Advanced Performance Oil Filters use a media (T-10) that is rated at a Frazier Air Flow of approximately 267 CFM and is wire backed. The unique wire backing provides a very stable base for a media blend of fiberglass, polyester and cellulose. This media is resistant to high temperatures and water levels in the oil that can plug standard media types. Advanced Performance Media (T-10) is designed to provide a high positive oil flow with low restriction. These are the Wix recommended oil filters for maximum horsepower increase, to be used primarily on concrete or asphalt tracks. Part no's are 51268R, 57003R, 57004R, 57007R and 57008R. All are required to be mounted on remote filter bases. Click Here To See Remote Filter Mounts and Bases High Efficiency Endurance Oil Filters use a media (T-71) rated at a Frazier Air Flow of approximately 75 CFM. This media contains a higher resin content than our Advanced Performance Oil Filters to trap and hold smaller contaminants and provide higher efficiency. High Efficiency Endurance Oil Filters include all the other component features as the Advanced Performance Oil Filters. Part numbers 51060R, 51061R, 51069R and 51794R will fit most Chevrolet V-8's. 51515R fits Ford and Chrysler. 51222R, 57005R and 57006R require mounting on a remote filter base.
Additional Oil Filter Features Include: A) Heavy walled can and cover to withstand extreme burst pressures (up to 500 psi) B) High temperature nitrile components (300 deg.F). Anti - drainback valve (when included) and base plate gaskets to withstand extremely high racing temperatures. C) Zinc chromate plated base plate - Low surface friction and corrosion free. D) Spiral wound center tube provides increased collapse pressure and enhanced flow pattern. E) Metal end caps provide element strength and prevents filtering bypass. F) Individually sealed to protect against contamination by environmental dust or dirt.
* The bypass valve is an 18 - 22 psi differential pressure relief valve that will provide sufficient oil flow should the media become plugged or clogged.
